$60K raised for local healthcare
The 2014 Christmas at the Clinic event was once again a very big success! Thank you! Thank you for sharing your time, your talents and your treasures with us. The committee who put on this year's event did so with poise, energy and diligence. Hosted at the Artel Gallery, the environment was just beautiful. Thank you to Sara Davy and Debbie Smith who led this event from beginning to end. Please plan to join us for next year's event! The event featured 20 beautifully decorated Christmas trees, from traditional to themes like Frozen, cupcakes, Auburn, Alabama, FSU, woodlands and many, many more, and more than 15 unique wreaths for event attendees to bid on by silent auction format. There were live auction items up for bid, including an experienc with the Naval Flight Academy and a set of stunning diamond earrings, a perfect Christmas present!!
The event was hosted by Becca Boles, Marketing VP with Southern Company and member of First Baptist Church of Pensacola. Attendees were privee to a very special message from Health & Hope Clinic patient, John Gazoo, as he shared his story and his experience during his time with the clinic. A paddle raise event capped off the message, giving audience members a chance to "Treat a Patient" for a year.
Committee members volunteered countless hours to make sure the event was a success and words cannot describe how thankful we are to have their heart, their tenacity, their commitment and their dedication to our mission and our ministry. Thank you to the leadership of Sara Davy and Debbie Smith. Thank you for the pain-staking work of Judy James for alway ensuring every little thing that no one ever thinks of until the last minute is complete well in advance! Thank you to Betty Panepinto for her tireless work transforming the art gallery into a winter wonderland. Thank you to Janet Oliff for working the email, social media and every other news outlet she could find to make sure people heard about and attended our event. Thank you to Shirley Huffman, Kathey Gentry, Donna Diamond and B.J. Davis for working the check-in and check-out tables at the event, making sure all the i's were dotted and the t's were crossed! Thank you to our designers, Michelle Barrow, Brandon Hall and AJ Traylor, who came and worked days ahead of time to decorate any space on any tree or wreath we handed them. Thank you to Bob Gowing and Don McLaughlin for pulling, hauling and lifting more than you should have and for being on-call whenever a need arose! Thank you to Carol Ann Rogers for making sure we had tables, chairs, music stands and every logistcal need we had to put on this great event! Thank you to Don Minton, Olympia Faulkner and Jessica Ham for securing such wonderful in-kind materials like gift cards, football, trees, wreaths and desserts that were the icing on the cake for the night! Thank you to Jeff Frame for making our beautiful, dynamic website full of information for all to find! Thank you to Roberto Castor WAY DOWN IN MIAMI for dreaming up such a beautiful layout of graphics to help promote and give life to our event! Thank you to John Gazoo for sharing your story with us and putting meaning behind 'providing health and hope to the hurting'. Thank you to Bennett Traylor for picking up Uhauls, wrapping trees, dropping off trees and many, many addresses, unwrapping trees, moving the tree here, moving it there and then moving it back to here. Thank you to Amanda Traylor for gorgeous pictures that truly bring our event to life in each image. And, last but not least, thank you to Chef Bob Vaningan at Olive Baptist Church for coming to every meeting, for dreaming up wonderful food items, for bring Chef Wayan and the sushi and for being an all-around loving, caring, giving Christian man who makes our event even better every year! I'm quite confident I missed someone, but please know how thankful we are for your support and tireless work to make this event successful.
